Caucus on Uzbekistan is created in the United States Congress

One of the main achievements of Uzbekistan – United States inter-parliamentary contacts became the creation of Caucus on Uzbekistan in the United States House of Representatives, which included leading congressmen and politicians.

As reported by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Washington, the unification of American congressmen and senators into so-called caucuses, representing membership organizations, is now becoming widespread in Congress. Taking into account the lack of complex bureaucratic procedures in their activities, caucuses allow to respond quickly to a particular problem, as well as quickly assemble lawmakers to discuss the situation around a particular issue.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, the Caucus on Uzbekistan will hold its meetings twice a year to discuss ways for further developing American – Uzbekistan cooperation. It is planned that the first meeting of members of this group and other congressmen interested in joining the activities of this structure, including from among the newly elected legislators, will be held in early January 2019.
