CCI hosts consultations on launching a new joint project with the EU

CCI hosted consultations on launching a new project on “Resource efficiency in agri-food industry” with a budget of 3 million euros with the financial assistance from the EU Commission.

According to Uzbekistan CCI, the project will cover agricultural enterprises located in Bukhara, Fergana and Tashkent regions and is aimed at assisting local enterprises in transition to a green economy by introducing sustainable consumption and production practices in the agricultural sector.

Within the framework of this project, it is planned to attract foreign experts from Germany, Austria and India, together with which in 4 years the CCI will organize work on conduction of the needs assessment and informing small enterprises about the possibilities to improve their activities through the introduction of resource efficiency tools; providing practical assistance to 300 small enterprises in increasing their resource efficiency; training 40 local resource efficiency consultants and others.

This project is launched within the framework of the EU Commission’s SWITCH Asia program with participation of representatives of a consortium consisting of organizations and consulting companies from Germany, Austria, India, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
