CELEBRATION OF FRIENDSHIP AND GOOD-NEIGHBORLINESS

A solemn event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in Tashkent.

Diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan were established on November 23, 1992. Negotiations of heads of states, visits of delegations of various levels have a regular nature.

At present, relations between our countries are consistently developing in all spheres. The Treaty on eternal friendship between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan signed in 1998, in 2013 – the Treaty on strategic partnership between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan serve as a solid basis for mutual cooperation.

The 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations was full of important events. Due to the open and pragmatic policy of the President of our country Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the interrelations between our countries have been intensified. The state visit of the Head of our state on March 22-23, 2017 to Kazakhstan raised the cooperation between our countries to a new level. The state visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to our country on September 16-17, became a logical continuation of the high-level negotiations.

We can say that this historical date was celebrated throughout the year. Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan met six times this year. The meetings of the joint intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation, several business forums, exhibitions of national products were held. Direct contacts between regions are established. The movement of the high-speed train between Tashkent and Almaty, intercity buses has been established. The mutual visits of the two countries’ people, who are bound by ties of kinship since ancient times, have increased. All this testifies to the high confidence and cooperation between the two countries.

Lately, the heads of the two states exchanged congratulatory messages on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan. In the messages it was noted that the bonds of friendship, good-neighborliness and partnership relations between our countries and people will continue to be consistently strengthened.

These aspects were again reflected in the event held in the house of state receptions “Navruz” in the capital. National songs and melodies were performed by artists of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

A meeting of the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin, who arrived in our country to participate in this solemn event, and the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Achilbay Ramatov was held. It was noted that the negotiations of the heads of states opened a wide road for cooperation, the agreements that were reached in their course are being fully implemented.

Issues of development of relations within the framework of the intergovernmental joint commission on bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, implementation of mutually beneficial trade, economic and investment projects were discussed. The protocol of the joint intergovernmental commission was signed.

The meeting was attended by the heads of ministries and departments of the two countries.

A meeting of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan A.Aripov with the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan A.Mamin was also held.
