Chairperson of the Senate receives the U.S. Ambassador

Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva received the U.S. Ambassador to Uzbekistan Jonathan Henick, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the upper house of the Parliament, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States, including issues of enhancing inter-parliamentary ties.

The Chairperson of the Senate stressed that inter-parliamentary ties should become one of the important mechanisms for further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

The role and effectiveness of activities to enhance ties between the parliaments of the two countries were noted during the conversation.

It was emphasized that the active development of trade-economic relations, the implementation of mutual visits of representatives of various spheres of Uzbekistan and the United States to intensify this process contribute to the qualitative expansion of bilateral relations in all directions.

The parties exchanged views on the development of political, trade-economic, social, cultural-humanitarian cooperation, including the expansion of women’s entrepreneurship, strengthening the role of women in society, and ensuring gender equality.
