Cooperation in the sphere of education

The Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan Alisher Vakhobov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France Jacques-Henri Heuls.

At the meeting issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of higher education were discussed, including the development of inter-university cooperation, learning French in universities of the republic, organizing various seminars on training of teachers of French, as well as participation in the preparation of various educational materials for learning French.

French Ambassador, in turn, noted the intensification of communication in the field of higher education, which became a result of a visit of the Uzbek delegation in 2013 to France. During that visit the Uzbek delegation familiarized with the education system in France, as well as participated in several meetings that have contributed to the further strengthening of bilateral relations.

The Ambassador also noted about a visit to Uzbekistan of the delegation of French universities, which is scheduled for November of this year. The delegation will include representatives of universities in such areas as engineering sciences, agriculture, architecture, construction, design, and environmental protection.

It was also noted that the Embassy of France will make assistance in the establishment of the Centre of the French language in one of the premises of the new building of the Faculty of French in Uzbekistan State World Languages University. The ambassador also spoke about plans of opening of the French Alliance (Center of French language and culture) in Tashkent.
