CULTURAL TIES CEMENT INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

Representatives of the diplomatic corps and international organizations accredited in our country have taken part in the festival of cultural traditions and national cuisine that took place at the Receptions Palace of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Dilyor Hakimov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, noted in particular that the consolidation of mutually advantageous cooperation with all nations is the priority dimension of the foreign policy course pursued under the leadership of President Islam Karimov.

Cultural events, diverse festivals and competitions held regularly among embassies serve for the further promotion of mutual relations between partner countries.

“At the festival we’ve got familiar with the culture, traditions and customs of various peoples and had an opportunity to engage in close conversation with our colleagues,” said Neithart Hoefer-Wissing, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany in our country. “At the event we have not only demonstrated our national meals, but also had a chance to try the cuisine and sweets of a variety of other peoples. I liked very much the Uzbek national foods, especially the plov. This traditionally organized festival serves for the consolidation of mutual relations of Uzbekistan with all countries and Germany in particular. We are glad that the cooperation between our two nations has been advancing steadily in the manufacturing industry, agriculture, education, cultural field and other spheres.”

The festival participants got in to know also the culture, customs and traditions, national costumes, cuisine and sweets, samples of handicraft and applied arts of a great diversity of countries. The guests and visitors were presented with classical and modern music as well as colorful dances.
