A representative delegation of Uzbekistan will take part in the Atomexpo-2019 forum, which will be held on April 15-16 in Sochi, the press service of the Agency UzAtom reported.
Last year, Uzbekistan for the first time took part in the forum in connection with the republic’s plans for development of atomic technologies and intensification of cooperation with Russia in the field of the peaceful atomic energy.
“This year a wider participation of the delegation of Uzbekistan at Atomexpo is planned. The delegation will include representatives of the Ministry of Energy, the Agency for development of nuclear energy under the Ministry of Energy, the Academy of sciences, the State committee for industrial safety. The forum will include meetings and negotiations with partners and other companies to discuss the prospects for cooperation within the framework of the project for construction of NPP in Uzbekistan,” the report says.
The Atomexpo forum is held annually at the initiative of Rosatom State Corporation. It has established itself as the largest international exhibition and business platform where the current state of the nuclear industry is discussed and trends for its further development are formed. This year, the main theme of the XI AtomExpo forum is “Atomic technologies for a better life”.
The forum participants will consider global issues of carbon-free energy development, a responsible approach to ecology and natural resources, “green” investment, international partnership for sustainable development.
At the exhibition, leading companies of the global nuclear industry and related spheres will present their innovations, a wide range of advanced nuclear technologies, new products and solutions, including those not related to energy. The exhibition area will be more than 13,000 square meters.
Within the framework of Atomexpo-2019, the ceremony of awarding the international prize “Atomexpo Awards” will be held for the second time. Nominees will be awarded for contribution to the development and use of atomic technologies for the benefit of mankind. Projects from 25 countries, including Uzbekistan, are participating in the premium.
In 2018, more than 4,000 delegates and guests from 68 countries took part in the forum (in 2017 – 65 countries, in 2016 – 55). The volume of the exhibition was more than 20,000 square meters (in 2017 – 12,000 square meters). Total number of participating companies exceeded 600.
