Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan meets with Chairman of the Council of Higher Education of Turkey

Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov has received a delegation of the Council of Higher Education of Turkey, led by Chairman of the Council Erol Özvar.

According to MIFT, the meeting was also attended by Ambassador Olgan Bekar and representatives of the Turkish Ministry of Trade.

The parties discussed issues of cooperation in higher education. In particular, measures were considered to accelerate the creation of Uzbekistan – Turkey University in Uzbekistan with the participation of leading educational institutions in Turkey. The corresponding agreement was reached in August 2020 during the visit of the government delegation of Uzbekistan to the city of Ankara. The parties outlined further steps in this direction.

An agreement was reached on improving the qualifications of researchers and the level of knowledge and skills of students, as well as organizing lectures, practical classes, interactive workshops and trainings between the universities of the two countries.

Following the meeting, the parties exchanged additional proposals to enhance cooperation and agreed to maintain close contact to accelerate the promotion of agreed programs and initiatives.
