TASHKENT, January 20. /"Dunyo" IA/. Following the parliamentary elections, the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan is holding its first meeting, informs the correspondent of “Dunyo” IA.
In accordance with the Rules of Procedure of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, a Council of Representatives of Political Parties was formed to elect the Speaker of the lower chamber. As proposed by the Council, the deputies elected Nurdinjon Ismailov as a Speaker of the Legislative Chamber through secret ballot.
Following that, Nurdinjon Ismailov took the floor to chair the meeting. The speaker read out the constituent protocols on the formation of fractions received by the secretariat from the leaders of 5 political parties. Then, fractions of political parties were registered in the Legislative Chamber.
Deputies elected Akmal Saidov to the newly established position of the first deputy of the Speaker of Legislative Chamber. Other elected deputies of Speaker included Aktam Khaitov, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Political Council of the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businesspeople – the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan; Alisher Kadirov, the head of the fraction of the Democratic Party of Uzbekistan “Milliy Tiklanish”, Narimon Umarov, the head of the fraction of the Social Democratic Party “Adolat”, Ulugbek Inoyatov, the head of the fraction of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan and Boriy Alikhanov, the head of the fraction of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan.
