The State Duma of the Russian Federation starts "open tribune" session with a minute of silence in memory on the passing away of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, reports RIA Novosti.
"A week ago, the first President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov passed away. He has made an invaluable contribution to the development of Uzbekistan as a sovereign and independent state... I propose to observe a minute of silence in the memory of Islam Karimov", - said State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin at the "open tribune" session dedicated to 25th anniversary of the CIS.
