The popular egyptian science magazine "al-Aklam va al-Kutub" (Pen & Books) published an article dedicated to the international music festival "Sharq taronalari".
As the newspaper writes, holding grand celebration of music festival in Samarkand on the initiative of President Islam Karimov has become an important cultural event in the field of international cooperation. It gave the opportunity not only to establish creative contacts between artists, cultural figures and scientists fr om different countries, but also simultaneously to integrate musical processes on different continents.
The article notes that the festival, aimed at the general promotion, preservation and improvement of the pearls of national music and songs of the nations of the world, education of the younger generation in the spirit of love for our national values, through the uniting arts of various nations and nationalities became very popular and attracted participants from all over the world in a short time.
Special attention is paid to the fact that every time it has been increasing not only the number of competitors and the level of creativity, but the geography of the participating countries. So, if in the first music forum, which was held in 1997, attended by groups and performers from 31 countries, in the last - 53 states.
Egyptian magazine also focuses on that traditionally within the framework of "Sharq taronalari" it has been also held international scientific conference with the participation of musicologists, critics, theorists which discuss the problem of preservation and development of the centuries-old musical traditions of the peoples of the world.
Finally, the Egyptian press emphasizes that now in Samarkand continues thorough preparation for 10th anniversary festival. Concerts will take place not only on the main stage of the competition - in the historical Registan complex, but in the recreation parks of Samarkand, as well as in the districts wh ere masters of art, artistic groups and participants of international forum will perform.
