On September 1, Euronews started broadcasting special reportage "Samarkand: melodies of the East", dedicated to the X International Music Festival "Sharq taronalari".
On September 1, Euronews started broadcasting special reportage "Samarkand: melodies of the East", dedicated to the X International Music Festival "Sharq taronalari".
The plot is shown in the category "Le Mag" - "The magazine", on 14 working languages of Euronews. It states that every two years the traditional oriental rhythms fill the ancient Uzbek city of Samarkand. The festival, which held in the heart of the pearl of the Great Silk Road - Registan square, represents the cultural diversity of the world through music.
European journalists say that this event is organized under the auspices of UNESCO, it was one of the most popular and well-known not only in the region but also far beyond its borders. Year after year the geography of participants expands. Jubilee, the tenth festival in Samarkand gathered representatives from a record number of countries - 60.
As reported by the channel, "Sharq taronalari" aims to promote musical and cultural heritage, strengthening peace and cooperation between peoples.
The report also presents an interview with Assistant Director-General of Public Relations Eric Falt, who participated in the festival "Sharq taronalari" as guest of honor.
"From the news, we learn every day that in the world attacks on cultural objects and works of art are taking place, - he told to Euronews. - Here we see a completely different trend - conservation and enhancement of the diversity of cultures of different countries and the pass of the baton to future generations".
