The Committee on the Protection of Nature in Tashkent hosted a conference dedicated to the protection of biological resources and their rational use.
The event, organized by the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Nature Protection, representatives of government, non-governmental organizations, educational institutions, scientists, environmental specialists.
Constant attention is paid to the process is carried out under the leadership of President Islam Karimov, socio-economic, environmental reforms protection of biological resources, reduce the negative impact of human factors on nature conservation issues, development of environmental education, sustainable development is.
Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the Programme of Action for the Protection of the Environment of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2013-2017" dated on May 27, 2013 enhances the scale of this work.
Our country is rich in nature and unique biological resources. In order to careful preservation of these natural resources, increase of endangered species in the country established national parks, protected areas - biosphere reserves, national parks, wildlife, hunting and fish farms.
In order to address the priorities in this regard, the Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Nature Protection, together with the relevant government and non-governmental organizations, academic institutions implements a special project for the conservation and use of biodiversity of the country. The aim of the project is to develop an action plan to increase the participation of local people in biodiversity conservation activities on unprotected areas.
To date, scientists from the National University of Uzbekistan, Bukhara and Samarkand State University, together with environmental experts in the regions is carried out research work in this direction.
