FOREIGN MINISTER RECEIVES SPECIAL RAPPORTEUR OF THE UN COUNCIL ON HUMAN RIGHTS

On October 2, Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov received Ahmed Shaheed, Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief of the UN Council on human rights.

According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, during the meeting there was a substantive discussion about the development of Uzbekistan’s cooperation with the UN and its specialized agencies.

The main attention was paid to the interaction between the parties in areas related to the mandate of the Special Rapporteur of the UN Council on human rights.

Ahmed Shaheed was informed on the international initiatives of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the religious sphere, aimed at addressing pressing contemporary problems.
