Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov met with his Iranian counterpart, Javad Zarif in Tehran.
According to the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, the ministers discussed topical aspects of bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on international and regional policy.
The sides confirmed readiness to strengthen and develop the relations in all areas of mutual interest.
The meeting also discussed prospects of cooperation of Uzbekistan and Iran within the UN, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other international structures.
Following the talks, the ministers signed a cooperation Program for the years 2018-2019 between the ministries of foreign affairs of Uzbekistan and Iran.
