FOREIGN MINISTRY HOLDS SERIES OF MEETINGS WITH HEADS OF TEXTILE ENTERPRISES

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a series of meetings with heads of leading textile companies of Uzbekistan, foreign experts.

The sides discussed prospects of promotion of competitive textile products manufactured in Uzbekistan on the foreign markets.

Manufacturers welcomed the signing and entry into force of the Textile Protocol to the Agreement on partnership and cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union, which aims to remove restrictions on the supply of appropriate Uzbek goods to the EU markets. However, they said that this information has not been brought to the customs services of the EU officially so far. This, in turn, has a negative impact on increasing mutual trade.
