GERMAN EDITION: “UZBEKISTAN IS ONE OF THE LARGEST SUPPLIERS OF COTTON IN THE WORLD MARKET”

The current issue of Masche, German quarterly business magazine, published an article dedicated to the development of Uzbekistan’s textile industry and its investment potential.

The edition is print media of the German Textile and Apparel Manufacturers Association.

The article reported that in recent years our country has gotten high growth rates, more than 8% per year. According to the magazine, the country has vast natural resources such as gold, coal, gas, copper and many others.

“Uzbekistan is one of the largest suppliers of cotton and silkworm cocoons in the world market. Taking into account the fact, textile and clothing industry is one of the most important areas of bilateral economic and investment cooperation for German companies. They have the opportunity to participate in privatization and modernization, make long-term mutually beneficial contracts with Uzbek partners”, the magazine emphasized.

Masche also informed its readers about the investment program for the modernization of the textile industry in our country. It reported that the document provides an increase in the volume of cotton fiber’s domestic processing up to 70% by 2020.
