GERMAN MEDIA ABOUT UZBEKISTAN'S PARTICIPATION IN “GREEN WEEK”

On the eve of the opening of “Green Week 2016”, annual international exhibition of food industry, agriculture, forestry and horticultural farm, Dusseldorfer Blatt, German edition, posted an article about the planned participation of Uzbek delegation. The event will be held in the pavilions of “Mesa Berlin” Exhibition Ground on January15-24.

The experts from 70 countries are expected to arrive this year, and Uzbekistan will also exhibit the latest engineering in the field of agriculture, livestock, horticulture and food processing, the source said.

It noted that the agricultural sector of Uzbekistan’s economy is rapidly developing based on new technologies and approaches, taking into account international best practices. The share of agriculture in GDP now stands at 15,4%. In the first nine months of 2015 the country produced agricultural products worth 31,8 trillion soums.

The German edition informed that the country launched an international project on the modernization of agriculture through the development of new know-how, engineering and technology funded by the European Union at the beginning of 2016. The project worth 10 million Euros will be implemented in two main areas: animal husbandry and horticulture with the assistance of the European Commission and the participation of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), Adecia French non-profit organization, AIA of Italy and Bulgaria’s CEED. Project implementation period is till the end of 2018. It noted that events in the framework of the planned project are aimed at development of small and medium-sized farms of Uzbekistan by upgrading processes preservation, storage, processing and packaging of fruits and vegetables.

Dusseldorfer Blatt reported that edition’s representatives will visit the stand of Uzbek companies and continue to inform their readers about them during “Green Week” exhibition.
