GREEN WEEK: UZBEK EXPORTERS CONTRACT FOR $55.6 MILLION

Uzbek exporters and regional and district khokims continue negotiations on exports to foreign countries, including European states, at Green Week, an international agricultural exhibition.

On the fourth day, our exporters met representatives of Central Investments Worldwide L.P. and Better International Trade (Great Britain), GIZ (Germany), Avietes (Lithuania), Befresh (Israel), Greenfield Agro and SHRI NIWAS DALL & BESAN MILL (India), Xinjiang Bari Import & Export Trading Co Ltd and ALASHANKOU HUA SHUN TRADE CO LTD (China), Vegetables and Fruits Trading (UAE), and LTD “Auto” 2013 (Georgia).

On the fifth day, Uzbek delegation held negotiations with Leonarda-Service LLC (Russia), Florry Business LP (Great Britain), ABM International Trade Co Ltd, Urumqi Tongyale International Trade, and Xinjiang wenhar international trade (China), Agrarmarkt Austria Marketing Gmbh and Tampico Trading Gmbh (Germany), Sarkhan Sultanli (Azerbaijan), Seolim Trading Co LTD (South Korea), Go Nuts & Fruits F.Z.E. and Vegetables and Fruits Trading (UAE), Avika Foods PVT LTD (India), Oktaslar Tekstil Sanayi ve Tic LTD and Gold Ithalat Ihracat Ve Tic LTD. STI (Turkey).

Russia’s Deputy Agriculture Minister Evgeniy Gromyko, who took part in the negotiations with Russian companies, appraised economic reforms in Uzbekistan.

Helmut Stummvoll, a board member of Tampico Trading Gmbh, also took part in the negotiations. Tampico Trading took interest in Uzbek walnuts, sesame, pomegranate, melons, and pumpkins.

The delegation also met representatives of the German Chamber of Commerce, to exchange views and experience and discuss the newly adopted GLOBAL GAP. The Chamber representatives were told Uzbek entrepreneurs were ready to access GLOBAL GAP. The parties agreed to bilateral negotiations in April and May this year.

Uzbek exporters signed export contracts to ship fruit and vegetables worth $55.6 million.

The delegation continues negotiations with foreign companies.
