The popular Hungarian online publication “Hello Magyar” has published an article titled “The Third Renaissance: The Islamic Civilization Center as a Strategy for the Intellectual and Intellectual Development of New Uzbekistan”, dedicated to the opening of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The publication notes that the project of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan brings together spiritual, historical and scholarly dimensions, transforming the concept of a traditional museum into a modern educational and research platform.
The complex harmoniously combines the architectural traditions of the Timurid Dynasty with advanced technologies, including virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and digital archives. These innovations enable visitors to explore the rich heritage of Central Asia in an interactive format and engage with virtual reconstructions of the region’s historic scientific achievements.
Particular attention is paid to the return of cultural values to the homeland. Over a thousand unique manuscripts and artefacts scattered around the world have been returned to Uzbekistan, while international research and cooperation with auction houses have enriched the Center’s collections with artworks from Maverannahr and Khorasan. These efforts highlight the country’s commitment to restoring its cultural identity and making this heritage accessible to future generations.
The article highlights the distinctive concept of the exhibition at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, which is structured around the principle “Civilization – Personalities – Discoveries”. Visitors are guided through a historical journey that spans the pre-Islamic era, the First and Second Eastern Renaissances and culminates in the era of New Uzbekistan. A central feature of the complex, “Wall of Civilizations” illustrates the continuous intellectual evolution of humanity. Meanwhile, laboratories and educational zones designed for both children and adults transform the center into a dynamic environment for exploring science, art, and engineering.
The project has also received growing international recognition, reinforcing its reputation as a global cultural hub. The Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan has been included in the list of the “World’s Most Beautiful Museums 2026” by “Prix Versailles” international architecture prize. The project has likewise been featured in rankings and publications by “Smithsonian Magazine”, “BBC Travel” and “National Geographic”.
Experts - including the Director-General of UNESCO, Khaled El‑Enany - describe the complex as a unique institution that integrates a next-generation museum, advanced research infrastructure and a platform for international cooperation, symbolising the intellectual and spiritual revival of New Uzbekistan.
