HELSINKI HOSTED EVENTS DEDICATED TO UZBEKISTAN

In the Finnish capital held the briefing and presentation of the seminar devoted to Uzbekistan. They were organized by the Embassy of our country in Latvia. They were attended by representatives of official, political and business circles of Finland.

They discussed issues of socio-political and socio-economic reforms in our country, the state and prospects of trade-economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Finland. We highlighted the progress made in our country consistently high growth in the economy and its leading industries, to create favorable conditions for foreign investors.

In addition, it was noted that special attention is paid to strengthening the care and attention, providing material and moral support to older people, solving problems, concerning the life of the elderly. It was informed that this year in the republic declared the "Year of attention and care for the senior generation", in this regard in the country was a state program.

The briefing was informed that over the years the gross domestic product of Uzbekistan is growing annually by more than 8%. The most important factor in ensuring sustainable economic growth, was the reform of the banking system, resulting in the growth of aggregate capital of commercial banks amounted to almost 25%. In recent years, leading rating agencies Moody’s, Standard & Poor’s and Fitch Ratings assess the activity of the banking system of Uzbekistan as "stable".

It was also noted that the distinguishing feature of our country is carried out in the investment policy it is that priority is given to investment projects aimed at the creation of new high-tech industries, providing deep processing of local raw materials. A powerful impetus for this was the creation of special industrial zones - FIEZ "Navoi", SIZ "Jizzakh" and "Angren" providing investors with a broad package of tax privileges and preferences, providing them at the expense of the republic required external engineering and transport infrastructure.

At the seminar presentations gathered familiarized with the achievements of our country in the democratic, social and economic transformations in the country created favorable conditions for development of small and private business activities of foreign investors. The participants were also informed about the participation of the national stand of Uzbekistan at the exhibition Expo Milano-2015 in October this year and will be held in May this year, Tashkent Exhibition MiniAgroTech-2015.

The increased interest of Finnish businessmen caused projects related to the development of alternative energy sources in our country. In particular, such companies as Finwind, Flinkenberg, Nocart, Suntrika interested in participating on the project "Equipping the 293 rural health units in Uzbekistan photovoltaic plant."
