Honoring the memory of Abai Kunanbaev

The birthday of the great poet, educator, thinker, singer of humanism and friendship Abai Kunanbaev was widely celebrated on the square of the embassy of Kazakhstan in Tashkent.

Members of the delegation from East Kazakhstan, deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, representatives of the Academy of Sciences, various ministries and agencies, public organizations, national cultural centers, diplomatic corps, writers and poets, youth gathered in the beautiful square where the monument to the poet is erected.

Since ancient times, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan people live in an atmosphere of good-neighborliness and brotherhood. At the present time, when ties of mutual friendship and cooperation are raised to a new level, the immortal heritage of such prominent thinkers as Abai Kunanbaev acquires even greater importance.

At the event, flowers were laid at the monument to the poet, respect for his memory was shown. At the same time, an exhibition dedicated to the life and work of Abai Kunanbaev was organized in the embassy of Kazakhstan.

The Writers Union of Uzbekistan hosted presentations of Abai Kunanbaev’s book “Favorites” and a collection of articles “Uzbekistan – Kazakhstan literary relations”.
