As we reported earlier, before the start of the Summer Olympic Games in Rio, company «Huawei Tech. Investment Tashkent» JV LLC decided to support the Olympic team of Uzbekistan in boxing and has signed a partnership agreement with the National Boxing Federation.
Boxers in the past games made a triumph, because thanks to them our national team has achieved good result in Olympics. Our boxing team, which included 11 boxers, won seven Olympic medals of different denominations and managed to take away the title “strongest” from Cubans.
Shahobiddin Zoyirov, Fazliddin Gaibnazarov, Hasanboy Dusmatov, Shahram Giyasov, Bektimirov Melikuziev, Rustam Tulyaganov and Murodjon Ahmedaliev become real heroes of the country and have proved to the world that boxing in Uzbekistan is developing from year to year.
While continuing to participate actively in the development of sports and education in the country, Huawei Company and the Boxing Federation of Uzbekistan held joint press conference.
The meeting was attended by leadership of the Boxing Federation of Uzbekistan and Huawei Company, members of the national boxing team, coaches, journalists and honorary guests of the event - Faina Jackson, daughter of the legendary boxer, one of the founders of the Uzbek school of boxing Sydney L. Jackson.
During the press conference, boxers spoke about their achievements at the Olympic Games and also discussed issues of cooperation with Huawei on social and commercial projects. During the event, representatives of the media were the first to see the social video prepared to support sports spirit and development of boxing in Uzbekistan.
"We, as an innovative and progressive brand, believe that boxing in Uzbekistan will continue developing. We know that the country’s school of boxing is famous around the world thanks to the success of its students. By giving Huawei smartphones to our boxers, we very much hope that they will always be able to communicate qualitatively with friends and family and increase number of their victories in the international arena. We are proud to have contributed to the Olympic Movement of Uzbekistan and the success of the country in the international arena", - said CEO of «Huawei Tech. Investment Tashkent» JV LLC, Wang Peng.
During the press conference, Huawei also discussed possibility of holding master classes of Uzbek boxers for athletes from China with the National Boxing Federation. According to the company, this initiative will undoubtedly contribute to strengthening sports cooperation between Uzbekistan and China.
After the meeting, all members of the boxing team were presented with special gifts from Huawei.
