IMPLEMENTATION OF A NEW PHASE OF DEVELOPMENT OF PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

Agreement between the governments of Uzbekistan and Switzerland, aimed at improving and further developing the system of education and training through the strengthening of cooperation between the training program and demand in the labor market, provides a new, fourth phase, according to the Center of secondary special vocational education.

The previous three phases of the project, which was implemented from 2004 to February 2015, were active at the college level in the field of automation and water-related professions. Activities focused on the development of cooperation between colleges and enterprises to create more jobs for students. The capacity of colleges’ management and teaching staff has been strengthened.

The project brought together 11 vocational and technical colleges, located in rural areas of Andijan, Namangan, Ferghana and Tashkent regions. Professional standards have been developed to meet the current requirements in the field of water management.

The new project will involve 4 colleges in the Syrdarya and Samarkand regions. It is also planned to develop training programs for two new professions in the field of water supply and conducting trainings on employment of young graduates.
