Tashkent hosted a press conference dedicated to the improvement of the road network of Uzbekistan in order to reach the level of world standards. Republican Road Fund under the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan has organized the event.
In our country, under the leadership of President Islam Karimov special attention is paid to the improvement of systems of transport infrastructure.
In particular, March 6 this year, head of the state signed a decree "On the program of development and modernization of engineering and communication and road infrastructure in 2015-2019", according to which in five years it is planned to construct and reconstruct 2700 kilometers of roads included in the Uzbek national highway.
— In 2015 it is planned to complete the construction and reconstruction of 376.6 km of four-lane roads that meet international requirements, - Deputy director of the Republican Road Fund Shukhrat Dauletiyarov said. - more than 1.5 trillion soums has been allocated for these purposes (of which 1.1033 trillion soums - fund’s means and 440.2 billion soums (172 million USD) -from international financial institutions).
Republican Road Fund allocated 288.8 billion soums for the overhaul of 112 kilometers of roads of international and republican importance, as well as 50 billion soums to repair 130 kilometers of local roads.
All work will be carried out using the most modern building technologies that improve the quality and durability of pavements. Especially for this purpose will be purchased 993 units of modern road-building machinery and 38 equipment sets to upgrade production capacity of the industry.
For the period of 2009-2018 Republican Road Fund plans the reconstruction of 1108 km of public roads with the involvement of international financial institutions in the amount of more than 2.4 billion USD. Today, the work on the 621 km section of the road woth of more than 1.2 billion USD has been carried out, of which 227 km are completed totaling more than 424.4 million USD.
In addition, it is planned to build 240 objects of roadside service. Among them - 37 campsites and motels, 85 petrol stations, 78 emergency medical and technical assistance stations, 31 short-term parking and 9 tourist complexes.
