Fuji Takuya, manager of the regional office of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in Japan:
— Uzbekistan, being one of the cradles of world civilization, for centuries served as a bridge between East and West, combining and embodying cultural, scientific and spiritual wealth of mankind.
Republic attracts tourists from all over the world for its unique historical monuments and culture and traditions and hospitable people.
Haruyuki Yoshida, director of development and regional cooperation Nara Prefecture:
— Cooperation between our nations is calculated for centuries and goes deep into the dawn of the Great Silk Road.
As you know, Nara was the east gate of the Great Silk Road and the many traditions handed down to Japan it is through the territory of modern Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan is a close partner of Japan and stable high rate of development of the economy and its leading industries, as well as create favorable conditions for foreign investors in the country attracting more Japanese companies in your country.
I am confident that the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan and Japan will contribute to mutual understanding between our countries.
