A roundtable discussion on “Opportunities of stevedoring companies of Latvia on serving export cargo of Uzbekistan” has been held at the Fund for support of exports of small businesses and private entrepreneurship.
General director of the Fund for support of exports of small businesses and private entrepreneurship under the National Bank for foreign economic activity of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jahongir Mustafaev, general director of the Association for Development of Business Logistics Akram Muhidov and others highlighted that domestic industries are consistently developing under the leadership of President Islam Karimov, geography of exports has been broadening.
Close cooperation is established in many areas between Uzbekistan and Latvia. Most favored nation status has been established in economy, trade and industry. Treaty on promoting and protecting investments, avoiding double taxation are valid between the two countries.
Transport sphere is one of the prospective areas of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Latvia. Our countries are important parts of Eurasian transport corridor. Uzbek goods, destined for European markets, go through Latvian ports.
During the discussion the parties shared views on further strengthening cooperation between logistics companies of Uzbekistan and Latvia, effective management in goods transit and documentation.

This will serve to strengthen Uzbek exporters’ position in European markets.
