INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION MINISTRY RECEIVES CHIEF OF OSCE ODIHR MISSION

On November 22, the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan held a meeting with Johan Peter Traugott Theiler, head of OSCE ODIHR Observation Mission.

The Mission members were debriefed about the state of and perspectives for Uzbekistan’s e-government and ICT development.

The guests learned in detail about the integration of ICT into the formation civil society, development of Uzbekistan’s e-government system, and the use of modern ICT in the election campaign, ahead of the presidential election.

The meeting underscored there is progressive work on ICT development in Uzbekistan. The technologies are integrated into the state and public life of the country. The development of e-government is a vital factor for improving population welfare and boosting economic growth and is one of the priorities of Uzbekistan’s state policy.

The parties exchanged opinions on the latest trends and prospects of ICT development internationally.
