Innovative Development Ministry studies Germany's experience for renovation of apartment buildings

The Ministry of Innovative Development hosted a presentation of a demonstrative pilot project for renovation of residential buildings in the city of Tashkent within the framework of PRO HOUSE project (Germany).

The meeting, opened by a high-ranking Advisor to the Minister Karsten Heinz, was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services, the Ministry of Construction, the Association of Professional Managing Companies, and Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Construction.

In Uzbekistan, approximately 98% of residential buildings belong to the owners. Managing apartment buildings suggests a solution of various social, technical, legal, financial and operational tasks. At the same time, a large number of houses and apartments need urgent capital repairs or restoration.

The Housing Initiative for Eastern Europe in 2016 initiated the PRO HOUSE project on professional property management in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan for strengthening the key structures and improving the energy efficiency of residential buildings in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

According to the Ministry, the renovation project of a residential building in the city of Tashkent within the framework of the PRO HOUSE project is aimed at supporting the efforts of the state authorities of the Republic of Uzbekistan for improving the quality of housing management and living conditions.

Following the workshop, representatives of the European Union’s Pro House project offered to hold an international conference on renovation of apartment buildings on Pro House project in April this year in Tashkent.
