INTERNATIONAL UZBEK COTTON FAIR KICKS OFF IN TASHKENT

The international forum is expected to involve about 1,500 foreign guests - representatives from more than 50 countries and domestic experts.

Uzbekistan enjoys authority among leading countries of the world and owns high positions in the international cotton market. Since independence, our country has gained a well deserved status as one of the world’s cotton centres, as it defines trends and prospects for the cotton textile industry, influences the formation of rules and procedures of the trade for fiber, yarn and finished textile products. The Tashkent cotton fair is held since 2005 and recognized as one the most important events in world economic life.

The XII International Uzbek Cotton and Textile Fair saw some 1000 representatives from more than 40 countries. The proposal of the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) to hold its 76th plenary session in Tashkent was another testimony for the organizational level of the event. The country’s leadership agreed to this proposal.

The next forum in the Uzbek capital is set to become a kind of platform for discussion of important issues of development of world cotton and textile industry, establishing partnerships among producers of cotton fibre and its customers, determining the prospects of mutually beneficial scientific-technical, economic and trade cooperation.

The Holding Company "Uzpakhtasanoat", JSC "Uzbekengilsanoat", the Ministry of foreign trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and others are among organizers of the XIII International Uzbek Cotton and Textile Fair.
