Investment and tourism potential of Uzbekistan presented in Fukuoka prefecture of Japan

During a visit by the delegation of the Embassy of Uzbekistan to Fukuoka Prefecture, in collaboration with the region’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the honorary consul of Uzbekistan in the prefecture, Tetsuro Yamasaka, a business forum was organized on the topic "Investment and Tourism Potential of Uzbekistan", reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Representatives of leading companies in the fields of investment, trade, and tourism in Fukuoka Prefecture were introduced to the favourable investment climate in Uzbekistan and the conditions created for foreign tourists and tourism companies.

The event was attended by members of the Prefectural Council, representatives of the leading business circles, and tourism companies.

Opening the event, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Muhsinkhuja Abdurakhmanov, provided a detailed overview of the efforts underway in Uzbekistan to attract foreign investments, diversify foreign trade markets, increase the flow of foreign tourists, and develop local industries.

The participants were also presented with information about international cooperation this year and potential areas for economic interaction, with a special focus on the economic results of 2024.

Tetsuro Yamasaka, the head of "Balcom Group" and honorary consul of Uzbekistan in Hiroshima, Fukuoka, and Okayama prefectures, noted that in recent years, cooperation between the two countries in trade, economics, politics, and tourism has been rapidly growing. He also shared information about successful projects implemented by "Balcom Group" in Uzbekistan.

It is noteworthy that "Balcom Group" is currently successfully implementing the project "Modernization of Central Park" in Tashkent, with a total investment of 12 million dollars, producing mineral fertilizers at the "Ifoda Agro Kimyo Himoya" plant in Namangan region, with an investment of 10 million dollars, as well as real estate construction projects in Tashkent and Namangan, with an investment volume of 3.5 million dollars.

The honorary consul highlighted that Japanese business circles are showing increasing interest in Uzbekistan, and the number of companies established in Uzbekistan with Japanese capital has grown significantly.

Special attention was given to the economic relations between Uzbekistan and Japan. Information on the dynamics of mutual trade over recent years, the volume of investments, and cooperation in the financial and technical fields was provided.

Japanese businessmen were invited to visit Uzbekistan to explore opportunities for establishing partnerships in areas of interest to Japanese companies, such as the automotive industry, textile industry, healthcare, agriculture, food industry, and information technology.

During the presentation promoting Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, information was shared about historical landmarks in Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Shakhrisabz, and Termez, which are included in the UNESCO World Heritage list.

Participants of the business forum were informed about world-class hotels, domestic transport infrastructure, dining and retail facilities built in Uzbekistan in recent years. New tourism destinations and "tourist content" were highlighted, and discussions were held on the implementation of projects in the tourism sector, including the creation of conveniences for foreign tourists.

At the conclusion of the event, discussions were held with representatives of the business community of Fukuoka prefecture, focusing on new and potential areas of cooperation with the Japanese side.

Parallel discussions were organized with representatives of tourism companies from the Kyushu region, who also participated in the event. An agreement was reached to increase the flow of tourists from this region to Uzbekistan and to jointly promote Uzbekistan’s tourism brand.
