LABOR MINISTRY HOLDS MEETING WITH U.S. DELEGATION

On August 14, the Ministry of employment and labor relations held a meeting with a delegation of the U.S. Senate Committee on foreign relations. The purpose of this meeting was to familiarize the U.S. delegation with the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan in the sphere of labor migration.

First Deputy Minister of employment and labour relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan E. Mukhitdinov noted consistent expansion of cooperation in the sphere of labor migration within the framework of a number of intergovernmental agreements in this field.

The head of the State legal Inspectorate of labour B. Shahriyorov shared detailed information on about foreign activity of the Ministry of employment and labour relations. Concerning labour migration, he highlighted the issues of cooperation with foreign countries in attracting labour force from Uzbekistan on a legal basis.

At the end of the meeting, the representative of the United States Senate Committee on foreign relations Mr. K. McCurry thanked for warm and hospitable reception. He also said that the United States also uses a practice of technical training of trainees from abroad. As an example, he recalled the involvement of a large number of citizens from China in the 1980-ies. In this vein, he stressed that the U.S. side will support the training of young professionals from Uzbekistan to the United States.
