Leaders of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan discuss issues of implementing agreements at the highest level

As part of the working visit to Baku, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

The President of Uzbekistan sincerely congratulated the Leader of Azerbaijan on the successful organization of the UN Climate Summit (COP29).

The parties discussed current issues of further expanding friendship and alliance between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in the context of the agreements reached at the highest level in August this year.

The highest level of cooperation in the Year of intensive development of multifaceted relations between the two countries was noted with satisfaction.

Trade turnover is growing. Cooperation projects are successfully implemented in the automotive industry, textile, electrical engineering, agriculture, construction industry, urban development, and other areas.

The importance of further expanding the project portfolio, including with the involvement of funds from the Joint Investment Company, was emphasized.

The issues of enhancing practical cooperation to assist Afghanistan’s economic development were also discussed.

Particular attention was paid to continuing active cultural, humanitarian, and interregional exchanges and preparing a rich program of events to celebrate the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations in 2025.

The meeting also included a ceremony to launch a joint sewing factory in Khankendi city.
