Leaders of Uzbekistan and Qatar discuss issues of further developing strategic partnership in Doha

In the framework of the working visit to the city of Doha, a meeting was held between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Issues of deepening of Uzbek-Qatari relations of strategic partnership and enhancing multifaceted practical cooperation were reviewed.

In the beginning of the meeting, the Head of our state sincerely congratulated the Emir of Qatar on the successful organization of the events of the Second World Summit on Social Development.

The productive contacts and exchanges on various levels were noted with deep satisfaction. Trade turnover increased by 45 percent since the beginning of the year. Major investment projects are being implemented with the participation of major Qatar companies. Inter-parliamentary, cultural and humanitarian ties are developing.

Special attention is paid to the promotion of cooperation projects in the sphere of green energy, transport, geology, textile, tourism, infrastructure development and other areas.

An exchange of views on the topical issues of international and regional agenda also took place.
