During a telephone conversation on December 11, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin discussed current issues of further development and strengthening comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia.
The issues of practical implementation of the agreements reached during the state visit of the President of Russia to Uzbekistan in May this year based on the roadmap approved by the leaders were thoroughly considered.
A high assessment was given to the fruitful results of the regular meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, and bilateral negotiations held the day before in Moscow.
The importance of taking coordinated measures aimed at ensuring the growth of mutual trade turnover, accelerating cooperation projects in industry, energy, transport, agriculture, and other sectors, and continuing active contacts at the level of regions and business organizations of Uzbekistan and Russia was emphasized.
The enhancing interaction in innovation, artificial intelligence, education and medicine was noted with satisfaction. In November, events within the framework of the Uzbek Culture Days in Russia were successfully held.
An exchange of views on issues of the international agenda and multilateral cooperation in regional organizations also took place in preparation for the upcoming high-level meetings at the end of December this year.
