LEADERS OF UZBEKISTAN IN THE LIST OF KEY FIGURES IN INTERNATIONAL LIFE IN 2016

The first President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and the elected Head of state Shavkat Mirziyoyev have been included in the list of 40 key figures in the international life of 2016 published one of the leading think tanks in Spain – Barcelona Centre for International Affairs (CIDOB).

The annual list is comprised of the most distinguished political and public figures of the world and non-governmental organizations.

The first and current Presidents of Uzbekistan are in the rating for 2016. At the same time the authors note that "an outstanding statesman and political leader Islam Karimov was the founding father of the new independent state and has played a huge role in the establishment of Uzbekistan after the collapse of the USSR."

High assessment of the first President of the Republic of Uzbekistan has become another paying tribute to the blessed memory of Islam Karimov who has devoted his life to the service of his people and the prosperity of the motherland.

CIDOB experts also state that an experienced Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has won a convincing victory in the last presidential elections with more than 88% of the vote. It can be expected new trends in the foreign policy of Uzbekistan under President Sh.Mirziyoyev, Spanish observers emphasizes.

This rating reflects the growing authority of Uzbekistan in the international arena, as well as the recognition of achieved successes of our country on the way of building a modern democratic state by the world community.
