Leading Malaysian construction company explores cooperation and investment opportunities in Uzbekistan

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Karomiddin Gadoev met with Imran Salim, Managing Director of Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, the Malaysian side expressed interest in exploring a wide range of opportunities for joint projects and investments in Uzbekistan. Special attention was given to the introduction of innovative technologies for improving water resource management and modernizing water supply infrastructure—critical factors for ensuring sustainable development in the region—as well as the enhancement of transport infrastructure.

Among the company’s priority areas are the development of agriculture—particularly in increasing productivity, establishing processing facilities, and adopting innovative solutions such as smart farming to boost crop yields and product quality—as well as renewable energy projects, including waste-to-energy technologies and the construction of solar and wind power plants.

The possibility of participating in Uzbekistan’s state asset privatization program was also discussed, offering new prospects for cooperation in real estate and infrastructure development.

Drawing on MRCB’s extensive experience in implementing PPP projects in Malaysia, Imran Salim expressed the company’s willingness to consider potential participation in similar initiatives in Uzbekistan.

Established in 1968, MRCB is a major player in the Malaysian real estate, investment, and engineering sectors. The company also provides services in environmental protection, security, and parking management. MRCB’s corporate structure includes 70 subsidiaries, with a total workforce exceeding 1,500 employees.
