Leading Malaysian shrimp farming company expresses readiness to cooperate with Uzbekistan

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Karomiddin Gadoev visited the Malaysian state of Perak and became acquainted with the operations of an aquaculture cluster owned by Sity Marine Products Group, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the visit, the company’s founder and managing director, Sau Keong, shared his 20 years of experience in the cultivation of brood stock shrimp and fish through specialized seawater treatment, larval production, fry rearing, and feeding techniques.

According to the entrepreneur, the company is one of the few in Malaysia with unique technology for shrimp hatchery operations and juvenile shrimp care. It has also established an efficient logistics system for the delivery of freshly harvested shrimp within 16–18 hours, depending on the destination within Malaysia.

The Malaysian side expressed its readiness to share its experience in fish and shrimp farming with Uzbek entrepreneurs in the aquaculture sector, exchange knowledge, and explore the possibility of exporting its products—such as frozen fish and shrimp—to Uzbekistan.

Sity Marine Products Group was founded on 8 October 1994 in the state of Perak. The group includes four subsidiary companies and operates over 500 aquaculture ponds spread across 21 locations in the state, covering a total area of 350 hectares.
