Uzbekistan Railways company continues implementation of project on the electrification of the Karshi-Termez section.

"The works have been launched in Karshi, and 52 km of the railway to Tashguzar have been electrified in short time. The project employs the most advanced equipment and more than a hundred of professionals. Electrification works are currently carried out on the 62nd kilometer of the Tashguzar-Dehkanabad section. As envisaged by the project, six substations will be built toward Termez,” commented the press-service of the company.

It is worth noting that, in process of electrification of domestic railways, local businesses have localized the production of main components at domestic facilities, which has significantly reduced the project cost. The total project cost is estimated at more than $400 million.
