Today, Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan cooperates with the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, the Association of Universities of the Republic of Korea, the other major specialized centers of Russia, the US and Europe.
Since 2014 with the assistance of experts the National Astronomical Observatory of China Academy of Sciences a lot of work has been launched to modernize the meter telescope Zeiss-1000 in the Institute. From mid-2016 after the completion of the process of drawing up, a program on forming of the Maidanak star galaxy catalog is scheduled to begin, reports the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan.
