Meeting at the Legislative Chamber

At the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a meeting with Convenоr of Foreign Cell of Bharatya Janata Party Vijay Jolly (India), who arrived in our country to observe the preparation and conduction of elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held.

Chairman of the Committee of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Foreign Affairs and Interparliamentary Relations U.Mukhammadiev and Chairman of the Committee on Legislation, Judicial and Legal Issues T.Abdusattarov spoke on the ongoing reforms in our country.

It was noted that preparations for the election of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan is based on democratic demands, candidates from political parties are holding meetings with voters, citizens are widely informed about the candidates and their programs, which provides a high level of organization of the election.

Indeed, the election of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan is an important socio-political event in life of our country. Amendments introduced to the electoral legislation of Uzbekistan play an important role in preparation and conduction of elections in line with democratic principles, on the basis of openness and fairness.

– We are convinced that people of Uzbekistan are actively preparing for presidential elections – says Vijay Jolly. – Having been in Khiva and Urgench, we got acquainted with the preparatory work, created conditions for voters. A preparation for the elections in the country is fully consistent with democratic principles. We will be observing this important political process on March 29 at polling stations in Tashkent.

The guest got also acquainted with the activities of bicameral parliament of Uzbekistan.
