President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov on July 27 at Oqsaroy received Commander of Central Command of the Armed Forces of the USA, Lloyd Austin.
Welcoming the guest, the head of our state noted the constructive nature of current Uzbek-American relations, based on mutual interest.
The parties noted that regular dialogue at various levels and areas of Uzbekistan and the United States allow progressively develop multifaceted and mutually beneficial cooperation.
During the meeting the sides discussed some international issues, including cooperation in ensuring security and stability in the region and exchanged views on the process of peaceful settlement of the situation in Afghanistan.
Lloyd Austin expressed his sincere gratitude to President Islam Karimov for the warm welcome and the opportunity to discuss issues of current state and prospects of Uzbek-American relations.
