On March 1, 2016, the Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Rashid Alimov had a meeting with the Ambassador of India to China Vijay Gokhale and the Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Pakistan Masood Khalid in Beijing.
In the framework of implementation of decision of the Council of Heads of the SCO member states in Ufa (Russia) the heads of diplomatic missions were given the draft Memorandums on the obligations of India and Pakistan in order to obtain the SCO member state status.
It was emphasized that the signing of these Memorandums as a part of the upcoming Tashkent summit will be one of the most important outcomes of the meeting of the Heads of States. It will also makes a significant contribution to the development of the SCO, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year.
The meeting was attended by the permanent representatives of the SCO member states to the SCO Secretariat.
