MEETING BUSINESS WITH LITHUANIAN BUSINESSMEN

At a business meeting between Uzbek and Lithuanian business circles held in Tashkent on November 19, the guest noted that Lithuania could be an important starting point for Uzbekistan in the European market.

Lithuanian ambassador to the Russian Federation and Uzbekistan Remigiyus Motuzas and Vilnius President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sigitas Leonavisius said that Lithuania’s interest in open and effective foreign policy, trade-economic and investment cooperation with foreign countries is also of interest to Lithuania. That is why the country is ready to expand ties with Uzbekistan in transport and logistics. Today Lithuania has large ports and logistics companies. It is important for Uzbekistan to enter the European market.

At a business meeting organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan to discuss trade, economic, investment, transport, communication and information technologies between two countries, Lithuanian companies such as Traidenis, MANTA CaWs, Vitautas University, Vilnius College of Business, Representatives of the Cardiolita Clinic made presentations on their areas of cooperation.

There are 14 enterprises with Lithuanian investors operating in the chemical, food, construction, pharmaceutical and tourism sectors. During the first 9 months of 2019, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Lithuania amounted to $ 362.1 million. But that is not in line with the potential of the two countries.

During the business meeting it was noted that it is necessary to increase the volume of bilateral trade, to expand the range of products and services. The issues of establishing direct contacts between entrepreneurs were discussed during the B2B negotiations.
