MEETING OF UZBEKISTAN AND KYRGYZSTAN BUSINESSMEN

Within the framework of the official visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov to our country, business forum and cooperation exchange were organized between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, at the International Business Center of Tashkent.

They were attended by representatives of ministries and companies of the two countries responsible for trade, industry, economy, construction industry, mechanical engineering, agriculture, food, textile and light industry, information technologies and other spheres.

Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan is dynamically developing in various areas. Promising projects are being implemented on the basis of mutually beneficial partnership. Due to the political will and commonality of views of the Presidents of our countries, relations between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan were strengthened, bilateral ties intensified. Interregional cooperation, partnership in transport, communication, energy, agriculture and other spheres have risen to a new level.

At the business forum, the Minister of Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan J.Khadjayev, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan A.Ikramov, Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic A.Novikov and others emphasized that the centuries-old friendship and good-neighborliness between our people serve the further development of trade-economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

In January-October this year, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan increased by almost 60 percent. There are more than 50 enterprises with participation of Kyrgyz capital in our country. About 50 enterprises are organized by businessmen from Uzbekistan in Kyrgyzstan.

At the event it was noted that this meeting of representatives of ministries, companies and businessmen of the two countries is a convenient platform for strengthening trade, economic and investment relations between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, improving conditions for conducting mutually beneficial business on the basis of equal partnership.

Within the framework of the forum, representatives of the state bodies and businessmen held negotiations, the themes of which were prospects for development of cooperation, legislation and business environment. At the sectional meetings on construction, agriculture, food and light industry, an agreement was reached on expanding partnership and annual conduction of such events.

Within the framework of the forum, about 60 documents on trade and economic cooperation were signed. Among them are the framework agreement on development of cooperation in the sphere of trade finance between the ministries of foreign trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Plan of joint practical actions (“Road map”) on development of cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic in trade-economic, investment and transport-communication spheres in 2017-2019, Action Plan (“Road map”) on implementation of provisions of the Agreement on cooperation between chambers of commerce of the two countries and others.

Practical aspects of cooperation, issues of organization of joint ventures were discussed at the cooperation exchange with participation of businessmen of the two countries.
