On September 20, 2018, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany Niels Annen, who is in Uzbekistan on a working visit.
The parties discussed key issues on bilateral agenda, prospects for developing cooperation in various fields.
As it was emphasized, the exchange of high-level visits scheduled for 2019 should open a new page in Uzbekistan – Germany dialogue, give it a systemic and comprehensive character, deepen mutually beneficial relations in political, trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres, create necessary conditions for attracting advanced German technologies to Uzbekistan.
At the meeting, views were exchanged on the schedule of forthcoming intergovernmental, interdepartmental, inter-parliamentary contacts and other joint events. In this context, as noted, participation of the representative delegation of the Federal Republic of Germany led by the Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office at the roundtable discussion on “Regional initiatives of Uzbekistan and the role of Germany in ensuring security and sustainable development in Central Asia”, held on September 19 in Tashkent, once again confirms the interest of the two countries in further strengthening the multifaceted cooperation.
The parties also considered preparations for the inter-MFA political consultations scheduled for November this year at the level of foreign ministers of Uzbekistan and Germany.
