On November 28, 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, who attended the International Conference on Afghanistan, met with the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, in Geneva.
The state and prospects of expanding relations between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan were discussed during the conversation.
The sides noted with satisfaction the dynamic development of Uzbekistan – Afghanistan dialogue, which has acquired a comprehensive and dynamic character under the leadership and personal participation of the heads of the two states.
Mohammad Ashraf Ghani praised Uzbekistan’s efforts on promoting peace and harmony in Afghanistan and thanked for support and participation in implementation of major infrastructure and socio-economic projects in the country.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, other issues of mutual interest were also considered at the meeting.
