On May 17, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov was received by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
The Minister conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the President Emomali Rahmon and the brotherly people of Tajikistan.
During the conversation, the sides noted the urgency of problems that were considered at the high-level international conference “International and regional cooperation on countering terrorism and its financing through illicit drug trafficking and organized crime”, in Tajikistan.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, practical issues of Uzbekistan – Tajikistan relations in bilateral and international formats were discussed.
Special attention was paid to prospects for development of multilateral cooperation in Central Asia.
The President of Tajikistan highly appreciated the initiatives of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to strengthen relations between the Central Asian countries and conveyed the sincere wishes of success to the President of Uzbekistan.
