Meeting with the U.S. delegation

On September 18, 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the U.S. Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom Samuel Dale Brownback.

At the meeting, the sides, in continuation of negotiations held on July 27 of this year in Washington, discussed the prospects for developing cooperation in the sphere of ensuring religious freedom.

The Ambassador shared his impressions of participation at the roundtable discussion on “Religious tolerance: the experience of Uzbekistan and the United States”, held on the eve in Tashkent.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the sides confirmed their interest in continuing Uzbekistan – American dialogue on the issues of cooperation in improving the practice of religious freedom, including through non-governmental organizations and analytical circles.

The U.S. Ambassador Pamela Spratlen attended the meeting.
