In connection with August 31 – the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Repression, ceremony of commemoration of victims in the name of freedom of our people was held in “Shahidlar hotirasi” (“Memory of martyrs”) alley.
The ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This has been reported by the Press Service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Surahs from the Quran were read, the memory of the deceased was honored. The memorial pilaf has been served.
The Head of the state in a conversation with religious figures, responsible persons in the sphere of education noted the need for honoring patriots, educating youth in the spirit of national pride, strengthening their aspiration to be like great ancestors. It was noted that for this it is necessary to widely use the opportunities of the Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, the Center for Islamic Civilization and universities, improvement of educational programs.
